J. Hicks, ABC

Senior
Consultant Daniel J. Hicks, ABC, brings 27-years of organizational
and corporate communications experience to the Institute
for Crisis Management. For 16 years, Hicks was Manager of
Communications and Public Affairs for Rohm and Haas Company's
Louisville, Kentucky chemical operations.
Prior
to Rohm and Haas, Hicks worked his way through a variety
of communications positions with Westinghouse Hanford/Rockwell
International, Boise Cascade, Corp., Morrison-Knudsen Co. and
Babcock & Wilcox. In the mid 70's, he was Grove City News
Bureau Manager for the Sharon, PA, Herald.
Hicks
developed years of experience in community relations, employee
communications, media relations, crisis communications, issues
management and investor relations. He has a track record
of being able to listen to concerns and opinions of stakeholders
and communicate them to management so that messages and projects
are strategically directed.
He
knows how to create community relations strategies that build
trust and help companies move forward.
The International Association of Business Communicators recognized
him as an Accredited Business Communicator in 1987. He earned
an IABC Gold Quill award in 1994, and Landmarks of Excellence
Awards in 1992 and 1994. He was inducted into the Kentucky
Communications Hall of Fame in 2003. He is a current IABC-Kentucky
Board member and past president of the Kentucky and Southern
Idaho IABC chapters.
Hicks
has been repeatedly recognized for his community involvement,
including work on the Cane Run Corridor Community School Advisory
Committee; founder. Lake D reamland
Center Board of Directors; Director of weekly Kids' Club
for at-risk youth; Cane Run Area Youth Development and Leadership
coalition, founder; and Can Run School mentor.
