The Institute's
ongoing research indicates most organizations do not understand
how to prevent crisis events that will generate significant adverse
publicity. They also have difficulty responding effectively during
a crisis to minimize the damage to their business and its reputation
in the aftermath. The fundamental purpose of the ICM Crisis Certification
Course is to address those vulnerabilities by providing a high level
of instruction and realistic training exercises in crisis communications.
ICM provides
your designated spokespersons with realistic training in responding
to a mob of reporters, by having them participate in the Media Response Training Workshop we have developed. This training is
especially valuable in instances where your officials or spokespersons
may be ambushed by the media or be compelled to respond in the aftermath
of a crisis in order to maintain the favorable perceptions that
your organization has worked so hard to establish over the years.
ICM can provide them with the training and the communications tools
to make sure they get their points across in commenting on any type
of crisis situation that may develop. The training can be provided
by ICM in its scheduled courses for spokesperson or on a customized
basis to meet the specific needs of your organization.
